By Mike FlorioAssociated Press – SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant will face off Sunday in a matchup that will be played on a frozen lake in San Francisco and at an empty football field in Dallas.
Both players will be expected to be in the game in a bid to help build the buzz of the NFC West championship.
The two-time Pro Bowler and two-way All-Pro will play a quarterback matchup with his old teammate Bryant, who is entering his 12th season in the league.
Both quarterbacks will have to deal with the new “postgame dance” in the NFC East, which is to throw a touchdown pass or run for a touchdown on the last play of the half or overtime to help seal the deal for the home team.
Prescott has thrown for 6,854 yards and 41 touchdowns while Bryant has thrown 6,727 yards and 47 touchdowns.
“This is an opportunity to show people that we are still one of the top teams in the NFL,” Prescott said after the Cowboys’ season opener against the Washington Redskins.
“We just need to get better every day.”
Bryant, a first-round draft pick by Dallas in 2015, has played in nine games and threw five touchdowns for the Cowboys this season.
He was also suspended for the first six games of this season after he allegedly choked his then-girlfriend during an argument.
